Indianapolis, Ind. - The Adelphi University baseball team has its marching orders for the NCAA Division II Championship and will head to Molloy as the East Region's No. 3 seed.
The Panthers (30-13-2) will play in a four-team regional at the Mitchel Field Athletic Complex on Long Island, along with No. 2 seed and host Molloy College, No. 6Â seed Franklin Pierce University and No. 7 seed Le Moyne College.
Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for senior citizens, children (12 and under) and students with valid ID. Tickets will only be available through the Molloy athletic
website, or by scanning a QR code at the gate. Only credit cards will be accepted.
While the team fell short of its bid of an NE10 Championship this past week, Adelphi returns to the NCAA Tournament as an at-large selection following a one-year absence.
The Panthers had earlier meetings this season against Molloy and Le Moyne and possess a combined 3-3 record against the regional field.
Adelphi's initial regional opponent, Franklin Pierce, hails from the same conference in the NE10, but the Ravens and Panthers have not met since February 2020.
A double-elimination tournament will commence Thursday (May 19), with the prevailing team advancing to next week's NCAA Division II East Super Regional at the highest remaining seed.
Adelphi and Franklin Pierce are set to play at 4 p.m., following Molloy and Le Moyne's scheduled 11 a.m. contest.
The winner of the Super Regional will be crowned as East Region champion and advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship at the USA Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
