ansfield, Mass. - For the second time this season,
Edward Perlstein has been named Defensive Player of the Week for the Northeast-10 Conference, announced on Monday afternoon by the league office.
Perlstein was nearly perfect at the faceoff this week for Adelphi finished 27-for-29 at the X with a team-leading 19 ground balls. He won all but two attempts in a narrow non-conference victory against Molloy but went 17-for-17 in an NE10 bout with Franklin Pierce.
Dylan Renner also earned himself a spot on the weekly Honor Roll, after securing victories over Molloy and Franklin Pierce. Despite allowing eight goals in non-conf. action, he collected eight saves and added three more saves in one half of work against the Ravens to finish with 13 saves for the week.
The Panthers, who remain at no. 4 in the latest USILA Coaches Poll, have a big non-conference matchup this week on Tuesday, Apr. 19 when they welcome no. 5 Mercy College to Garden City. The Mavericks have only one loss on the season (9-1) and the Panthers remain undefeated at 11-0. Surprisingly, this is the first all-time meeting between the two programs. Opening faceoff is set for 7:00 p.m. after the program and department recognize the graduating class.
