Colorado Springs, Colo. - After a historic weekend for the Adelphi University field hockey team, the Panthers have been informed that they are back as the No. 9 nationally-ranked team across Division II, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier this year in the preseason polls, the Panthers were nationally-ranked as the No. 9 team. The squad has a 13-8 overall record, and is only one win away from tying their single-season record, which Adelphi accomplished last season and in 2019.
The group learned yesterday afternoon that they have been selected to the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row, as the No. 6 seed, and will play third-seeded West Chester University of Pennsylvania on Sunday (Nov. 27) at noon.
In her first year at the helm, Head Field Hockey Coach
