Mansfield, Mass. - A new season is upon us, and the Adelphi University women's basketball team has been projected to finish sixth in Friday's NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll.
With the dissolution of the two divisions, the thirteen teams made up one poll, with Bentley headlining the list.
The addition of five new players to this year's roster has the Panthers aiming to build off last season's 12-12 finish and first-round appearance in the NE10 Tournament.
In their debut campaigns at Adelphi,
Ty'zhea Hawkins averaged double figures at 10.9 points per game and shot a stellar 90.3 percent from the foul line.
At the point,
Sydney Rosenoff and
Kaitlyn O'Connell scored 6.0 and 5.9 points per game, respectively. Rosenoff also averaged 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per contest, while O'Connell made nearly 30.0 percent of her shots from three.
Adelphi just missed cracking the NE10's preseason Top 5 with 90 points in the poll. Four of the five schools within the Top 5 garnered first-place votes.
Head Coach
Sade Jackson and the Panthers get the 2022-23 season underway on Friday, Nov. 11 at home against Post University at 6 p.m.
