Mansfield, Mass. - After a fantastic start to her Panther career, Adelphi University women's tennis sophomore Barbie Quagliardi earned the nod Tuesday as the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week.

Quagliardi first helped the Panthers to a 2-0 start to NE10 play two weeks ago, with decisive home victories over Saint Michael's College and Franklin Pierce University.

She lost a total of just five games between her two singles matches at the No. 1 flight, winning in straight sets against Saint Michael's' Abby Ramsay (6-2, 6-0) and Franklin Pierce's Himani Mor (6-0, 6-3).

Most recently, Quagliardi and junior teammate Nicole Kielan accomplished the feat of capturing the 2019 ITA Division II East Region Women's Doubles Championship. As a result, Quagliardi has cemented her spot at the ITA Cup this October in Rome, Ga.

Quagliardi and the Panthers are back in action Thursday (Sept. 19), when they face Concordia College in a non-conference showdown at 3 p.m. at the Adelphi Tennis Courts.
