Reading, Pa. - The Adelphi University bowling season came to an end over the weekend at the East Coast Conference Championships.
Looking to win their third league title in four years, the Panthers were ultimately eliminated in what was ostensibly the semifinals, losing out to Lincoln Memorial in the last consolation round before the championship.
Adelphi went 3-1 on the first day of competition to determine its seeding, losing out only to defending champion LMU.
The Panthers were seeded second headed into day two after posting an overall pinfall of 5,138 with an average of 205.5, just 0.5 pins behind the Railsplitters on average.
Adelphi then went 1-1 on the second day, falling to Caldwell by a 4-3 final score despite winning the first three games for its first loss in the double-elimination bracket.
The Brown and Gold would have needed to win out on Sunday to return to the championship match, and despite coming out on top in consecutive 4-3 dramatic victories against Kutztown and Molloy, were swept by LMU to see its tournament bid end in the penultimate round.Â
