Garden City, N.Y. - Ophir Sadeh will serve as the interim head coach of the Adelphi University softball program, as announced by athletic director Danny McCabe on Aug. 6.

Sadeh has spent the last six years in the Panther dugout, having been elevated to Associate Head Coach prior to the 2016 season. During this time, the Panthers won three Northeast-10 Championships (2013, 2017, 2018), qualified for the NCAA Tournament in all six seasons, won a pair of NCAA East Region titles, and earned two appearances in the Division II Women's College World Series.

Head coach Bree Nasti announced her resignation from the program last week, and Sadeh will serve as interim head coach as the search is conducted for the team's next head coach.

Sadeh came to Adelphi from Smithtown West High School, where he was an assistant coach for two years in charge of the pitching staff. He also spent two years as the Commissioner of Long Island's Best Softball League and head coach of the Ducks Fastpitch 18U team.

Sadeh has coached softball at the club/travel, high school, Division I, and Division II levels for over a decade and is fixture at camps and clinics throughout Long Island and the Northeast Region. He spent two seasons as a student assistant at Hofstra University, followed by two years as an assistant coach from 2008-10. In addition, Sadeh has extensive camp experience coaching at the Long Island All-Star Softball game for over 10 years, and also Camp Riseball.

A 2004 graduate of Hofstra with a degree in physical education, Sadeh earned his master's degree from Stony Brook in 2006.
