Garden City, N.Y. – Following a six-year run at Adelphi University,
Bree Nasti has announced her resignation as head softball coach effective Aug. 31, 2018.
Nasti was named the eighth head coach in the history of the program on Aug. 16, 2012, and wrapped up her sixth season at the helm in 2018.
Under her direction, the Panthers have evolved into a regional and national powerhouse, reaching several milestones in the program's Division II history. Nasti's Panthers won three Northeast-10 Championships (2013, 2017, 2018), qualified for the NCAA Tournament in all six seasons, won a pair of NCAA East Region titles, and earned two appearances in the Division II Women's College World Series.
The Brown and Gold posted an overall record of 204-119-2 in her tenure, with an impressive 107-37 mark in league action, never losing more than eight games in the conference regular season.
Nationally, the softball program reached its highest end of year ranking in 2016 when they finished sixth, while also sitting seventh in both 2015 and 2017.
"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Adelphi and I am grateful for the support the University has provided to our program," Nasti said. "It's a force to be reckoned with and I am immensely proud of our performance on and off the field."
In 2018, she led the program to their second consecutive NE10 crown and picked up her 200th win in a 2-0 sweep of Molloy College on April 28. Over six campaigns, the program saw 36 players named NE10 All-Conference, as well as four National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) All-Americans.
A national search will commence immediately for Nasti's replacement.
