Garden City, N.Y. – The Adelphi University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and University Advancement are proud to announce a dedication ceremony for the newly-constructed baseball clubhouse on Saturday, April 21.
The pregame celebration is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with a walkthrough of the facility, as the starting piece to list of festivities for the afternoon. A complimentary barbecue is also on tap ahead of the first pitch for the team's 12 p.m. Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader against American International College. Between games one and two, the department will hold an on-field ceremony to honor of the donors who made the project possible.
The $270,000 project, funded exclusively by the generosity of donors and through team fundraising was completed in the fall of 2017. The facility has constructed room for 40 metal lockers with a lounge area, including a multi-purpose flat screen television. The already-cemented coaches' area was also expanded, allowing for their own space with individual lockers, as well as a meeting area.
The opening of this clubhouse at William J. Bonomo Field gives the athletic department the luxury of having locker room space located conveniently within the immediate area of each of its three major athletic fields, along with softball's Janet L. Ficke Field and the multi-purpose Motamed Field and Center for Recreation and Sports complex.
For additional information or to RSVP to attend the ceremony, please contact the Coordinator of Athletic Marketing and Special Events, Vincent Amodeo at (516) 877-4241 or via email at vamodeo@adelphi.edu.
