Box Score
Albany, NY - Two extra periods of action was not enough to settle a scoreless draw between the #9 ranked Adelphi University women's soccer and first ranked Saint Rose earlier this evening during Northeast-10 Conference action.
Senior
Sam Whitney made a season-high eight saves for the Panthers (5-0-1/2-0-1 NE-10) to keep the Golden Knights (6-0-1/2-0-1 NE-10) off the board. Sophomore

The two NSCAA top-10 teams played a scoreless first 45 minutes with both defenses standing tall as Whitney made two saves in the period. The squads also took three shots and one corner each.
Play continued into the second period with a familiar theme of scoreless soccer, however, the Golden Knights took control of the pace. Saint Rose outshot the Panthers 7-4 and generated a 3-1 corner kick advantage. Whitney maintained the clean sheet through 90 minutes with five more saves in the second stanza.
Another 10 minutes of soccer could not provide the game-winner in the first overtime.
Melissa Rubin took a shot in front of the net towards the left post that forced Homer to make a diving save.
The second overtime only continued to prove the strength of both teams' defenses. The Golden Knights had a last second opportunity in the 110th minute that was turned away by Whitney and the Panther backline.
With the shutout, the Panthers run their streak to six games to begin the season of not allowing a goal.
The Panthers are back on the road this Saturday with an 11:00 am conference tilt at Saint Michael's. Live stats can be followed at this
