Garden City, N.Y. – For the second straight year, the women's soccer team has advanced to the Northeast-10 Championship round. The fourth seeded Panthers will be taking on top ranked St. Rose in Albany, N.Y. on Sunday, November 10 at 1pm.
Road to the Finals
The Brown and Gold have impressed this year as shown by their 13-1-4 overall mark, 9-1-4 record in NE-10 action. The Panthers suffered just one loss all year and that came to St. Rose back on September 24 in a 1-0 defeat. They tied Southern New Hampshire, Assumption and Saint Anselm 1-1 in their respective meetings and then played the then #8 nationally ranked Yellow Jackets of AIC to a scoreless draw on October 30.
However, the Brown and Gold have won nine of their last 11 contests heading into Sunday's game and have out-scored opponents by a 19-7 margin over that span. They took care of St. Anselm at home by a score of 2-1 in the NE10 first round and then exacted revenge on AIC by defeating them in Springfield, MA yesterday by a score of
2-1 in overtime.

The conference awards were unveiled earlier this week and the Panthers took home their fair share of hardware. Head Coach

Scouting the Golden Knights
St. Rose is currently ranked #4 nationally and locked up the NE10 regular season championship with an 18-0-2 record. They have allowed just three goals the entire year to give them a .163 goals against average; a mark that is second best in the nation. Additionally, they have recorded 17 clean sheets for a .833 shutout percentage; another mark that is second best in Division II.
Tale of the Tape
The all-time record between the two teams shows Adelphi having the 8-7 advantage. However, the last seven meetings resulted in wins for St. Rose. Earlier this year, the Golden Knights served the Panthers their only loss of the year on September 24. The last time Adelphi beat their counterparts was back on September 18, 1999 when they won by a score of 2-1 under former head coach Rich Illsley. After that, the two teams renewed their rivalry in 2007 after a six year hiatus.
