Garden City, N.Y. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced the All-Region teams. The awards are divided into the First and Second teams for both the North and South regions with 16 women being named to each team. In the North, the Panthers led the way with six honorees while Le Moyne and C.W. Post each had five.
Erica Devito,
Marissa Mills and
Jacqueline Williams all appeared on the First-Team while
Courtney Acker,
Meg Brown and
Devan Crimi all earned Second-Team nods.
Devito earns her fourth straight First-Team All-Region accolade this year. Additionally, she was a First-Team All-Conference honoree at attack. She led the team in goals, assists and points with 63, 39 and 102 respectively and also leads the team in draw controls with 38. She is Adelphi's All-Time point earner with 379.
Mills, a senior from Islip, N.Y. lands on the First-Team as a midfielder after being honored with First-Team All-Conference honors. She ranked second on the team in goals with 51 and third on the team in points with 58. Additionally, she scooped up 28 ground balls, gained 35 draw controls and caused 11 turnovers.
The Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference performer, Williams earns her first All-Region accolade. As a defender, she tallied four points, picked up 26 ground balls, 38 draw controls, and 13 caused turnovers.
A four-year defender, Acker picks up her first All-Region honor with inclusion on the Second-Team. During the 2012 campaign, she picked up 25 ground balls, earned five draw controls and caused 17 turnovers.
At midfield, Brown earned a spot on the Second-Team after being named a Second-Team All-Conference performer. The Lindenhurst, N.Y. native compiled 42 goals and 12 assists for 54 points on the year. Additionally, she led the team in ground balls with 50 and caused a team high 24 turnovers and gained 36 draw controls.
Crimi rounds out the Panther six with Second-Team kudos. A NE-10 First-Team All-Conference selection, she was second on the team in points and assists with 21 and 71 respectively while ranking third on the team in goals with 50. She was 7-10 on free position shots, scooped up 23 ground balls, took 11 draw controls and caused 11 turnovers.
The Panthers concluded their season with a 16-3 overall record and made their fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
