Volleyball Out Paces the Setters, 3-0

Pleasantville, N.Y.
- The Adelphi University volleyball team traveled to Pleasantville, New York to face Northeast-10 opponent Pace University. The Panthers topped the Setters in three straight games to pick up the conference victory and improve to 11-8 overall and 3-0 in the NE-10, while Pace falls to 6-13 overall and 0-2 in conference action.

Kaitlyn DeStefano led the Panther attack with 14 kills, hitting .545, while Emily Dorko and Samantha Rico added eight kills each. Katie Bryson led all players with 30 set assists, while Bianca Hernandez led Adelphi with a game-high 15 digs. 

In game one Pace turned a 12 all tie into a 16-14 lead, when a Setter service error gave Adelphi the point and sent the Panthers on a 11-5 run that ended with a DeStefano kill and a Brown and Gold win, 25-21. The second game was all Adelphi, as the Panthers sprinted out to a 17-7 lead and Pace was unable to recover, falling 25-14. The third and final game was knotted at 15 when a Chelsea Overholt kill gave the Brown and Gold a one point lead that would become a 25-22 victory and the game, 3-0.

Adelphi returns to action at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 6 when they play host to upstate New York rival the College of St. Rose in the Center for Recreation and Sports.
