The Adelphi University volleyball team traveled to Albany, New York on Saturday, October 1 to take on Northeast-10 New York rival St. Rose. The Panthers dropped the first two games, 25-15 and 25-20, but ralled in game three, before losing the match 32-30. WIth the loss Adelphi falls to 8-4 overall and 2-1 in the NE-10, while St. Rose improves to 8-4 and remains unbeaten in conference, 3-0.
Emily Dorko paced the Adelphi offense with nine kills, while
Samantha Rico chipped in seven and
Patawe Simms added six.
Katie Bryson had a team-high 24 set assists, and
Bianca Hernandez led the defense with 19 digs.
The Adelphi offense struggled in set one and two, posting attack percentages of .029 and .031, while dropping games one and two, 25-15 and 25-20. The Panthers came alive in game three, posting 18 total kills and an attack percentage of .231, to push the third game to it's limits. Unfortunately Adelphi's effort was not enough, as the Brown and Gold dropped the game, 32-30 and the match, 3-0.
The Panthers return to action on Tuesday, October 4 when they host fellow NE-10 member Pace University at 7:00 pm in the Center for Recreation and Sport.
