Uniondale, N.Y. - Senior Lana Mignon De Wet reached the 100-career-point milestone as the Adelphi University field hockey team rolled to its fifth consecutive victory on Wednesday, with a 10-0 shutout of Molloy University.

The Panthers (5-4) controlled the contest from start to finish, as nine different Panthers found the back of the cage.

  • The Brown and Gold have outscored their opponents 39-2 during their current five-game winning streak.
Highlights: How it Happened:
  • Despite controlling possession throughout the opening quarter, the Panthers had to wait until the final seconds of the frame to break through. De Wet finally got the scoring started, with just 10 seconds remaining, reaching her 100th career point and sending Adelphi into the second quarter with a 1-0 advantage.
  • The Brown and Gold offense erupted in the second period, beginning less than two minutes into the frame when Van Aardt connected with Santos to double the lead.
  • Santos then turned facilitator, setting up Flores just under five minutes into the quarter before finding De Wet less than a minute later for the senior's second goal of the afternoon.
  • Flores capped off the four-goal second quarter with just over six minutes remaining in the half, taking a feed from Souke and finding the back of the cage for her second score of the afternoon.
  • Adelphi entered halftime holding a commanding 5-0 advantage after outshooting Molloy 29-0 over the opening 30 minutes.
  • The Panthers wasted little time adding to the lead after the break. Souke scored unassisted just over a minute into the third quarter before DeLeon followed less than two minutes later to push the advantage to seven.
  • The Brown and Gold tacked on three more in the final frame. Francese opened the fourth-quarter scoring just over three minutes into the period before Smith connected with Ventura with seven minutes remaining.
  • Leclair put the finishing touches on the 10-goal afternoon with just over four minutes remaining, scoring off a feed from van Antwerpen.
  • Adelphi's defense was equally dominant throughout the afternoon, holding the Lions without a shot or penalty corner across all four quarters to preserve the clean sheet.
