Garden City, N.Y. – Head coach Chris Megaloudis and the Adelphi men's soccer team continued their road trip on Saturday afternoon when they traveled to take on Saint Michael's.

Series History:

• Adelphi (3-4-2, 1-2-0 NE10) is now 12-1 against Saint Michael's since October 2013. The last matchup between the two was a 2-0 Purple Knight win in Garden City on September 27, 2025.

Highlights:

• Sam Wraith tallied his first career brace, scoring in the 38th and 45th minutes.
• Zain Suterwalla kicked off the scoring for Adelphi, potting his third goal of the season in the sixth minute.
• Andrea Farinella made three saves in the match.
• Marcelo Huntley made his first career start.
• Adelphi outshot Saint Michael's 15-6.

How It Happened:

• Adelphi got off to a roaring start, recording the first two shots of the game from Wraith and Marcelo Huntley.
• In the sixth minute, Wraith streaked down the sideline and kicked a ball into the box that ricocheted off the keeper and a Purple Knight defender. Suterwalla corralled it, deked the goalie and buried the ball into the back of the net for an early Panther lead.
• Adelphi kept the pressure on the Saint Michael's defense, and although the home team was able to rip off a couple of shots, Farinella made the saves and kept the momentum on the Panthers' side.
• Maximilian Mann and Matthew Murphy entered minutes apart from each other and made an immediate impact, both assisting on Wraith's first goal of the day.
• Mann knocked the ball to Murphy on the outside of the box, who then sent a perfect low cross to Wraith. The freshman back heeled the ball in for a 2-0 lead.
• Just minutes later, seconds before the break, a seemingly harmless ball into the box from Robin Jaaskelainen turned into the third Panther goal when Wraith jumped above the entire field and sent a perfect header just past the goalkeeper.
• Adelphi started the second half off with the first couple of shots, but it did not play as aggressively as it did in the first half, trying to preserve the three-goal lead.
• The Purple Knights had a few chances and finally came through with their first goal of the game in the 79th minute.
• Still up two, the Panthers played solid defensively for the remaining minutes and went home happy with a 3-1 win, their first conference victory of the season.
