Garden City, N.Y. – Head coach Chris Megaloudis and the Adelphi men's soccer team continued conference play on Wednesday night when they traveled down to Springfield to take on American International College.

Series History:

• Adelphi (2-4-2, 0-2-0 NE10) is now 8-4-2 against AIC since September 2013. The last matchup between the pair was a 2-0 Adelphi win in Garden City on October 18, 2025. Now-assistant coach Lucas Nicolaou scored in the win.

Highlights:

• Enrico Cesarini Sforza scored his third goal of the season in the 44th minute.
• Sam Wraith scored his first career goal, a header off an Arik Landau corner kick.
• Agustin Soldo led the team with three shots.
• Andrea Farinella tied his career high with eight saves in the match.
• Stefano Linardos made his first career start.
• Daniel Andresen made his Adelphi debut.

How It Happened:

• The Yellow Jackets pushed the tempo early and got on the board, scoring on a corner kick in just the seventh minute.
• AIC continued to hound Adelphi's backline, recording seven shots before Adelphi had even one.
• In the 23rd minute, the home team struck for its second goal, putting the Panthers in a hole early.
• Farinella kept the deficit at two with a handful of saves, and in the 44th minute, the Panthers finally broke through.
• A long ball sent up by Farinella found the head of Edoardo Aramini, who knocked it into the box and set up Cesarini Sforza for an Adelphi goal.
• The Yellow Jackets quickly reset with time winding down and answered less than a minute later, restoring their two-goal lead entering the break.
• Adelphi earned the first shot of the second half as its offense began a push to get back into the game.
• For the next 20 minutes, neither team had many dangerous chances, but AIC continued to control possession.
• At the 75-minute mark, Cristian Escobar forced the AIC goalie to make a save, and momentum started to swing in the Panthers' way.
• A corner kick awarded two minutes later gave Adelphi a chance to get back into the game, and that they did.
• Landau swung a perfect ball into the box, and Wraith outjumped everyone for his first career goal.
• Cesarini Sforza had a chance to tie the game in the 79th minute, but he was stoned by the keeper.
• As soon as the Panthers gained momentum, they lost it as AIC scored the dagger in the 80th minute to once again go up two.
• Adelphi made a valiant effort in the final 10 minutes but ultimately fell 4-2.
