Rindge, N.H. — The Adelphi men's tennis team kicked off its quest for a fourth straight Northeast 10 title on Saturday morning when it took on Franklin Pierce.
Debuting some new faces, the Panthers made quick work of doubles play and earned the first point of the morning.
Reigning NE10 Player of the Year Louca Bertone and newcomer Christian Capuccini were victorious, 6-1, while Lucas Rosvall and Andrea Albiero won 6-2. Pau Valles and Jorge Alcalde Miragata also earned a 6-2 win.
Albiero won the first singles match for the Panthers, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 4 singles.
Lucas Rosvall won a battle, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 3 singles for Adelphi.
Leo Silverston stayed true to form with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles, and Capuccini rounded out the Panthers' 5-2 win with a 7-6 (7-5), 5-7, 6-2 victory.
Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Cats will be back on the court Saturday at Saint Michael's College.
