Garden City, N.Y. - Day two of the 2026 Paws Up Classic saw the Adelphi University volleyball team split its matches, taking a 3-1 victory from Georgian Court before falling in straight sets to American International in the nightcap.
Game 1: Adelphi 3, GCU 0 (25-20, 25-17, 18-25, 25-15)
- Despite a set three blunder on offense, the Panther attack managed to hit .219 or better as a team to secure a match one victory. Twelve different players recorded a kill in the four-setter, led by Mackenzie Casey who accounted for seven with a .455 hitting percentage.
- Ada Isik finished with a team-leading 22 digs while Isabella Assaley and Lola Clayton accounted for 20 and 11 assists, respectively.
Game 2: American International (25-18, 25-20, 25-17)
- Adelphi (1-4) held a commanding advantage in blocks (9-4) in the game, but fell short in all other categories, as the Yellow Jackets (4-0) remain perfect in the 2026 campaign after opening weekend.
- Madeleine Chaapel was the offensive leader in match four of the weekend, accounting for eight kills while Assaley added another 20 assists to her stat sheet, to finish with 58 on the weekend.
- The two teams will meet again near the end of the season (Nov. 3) when the results will count towards the conference record.
