North Attleboro, Mass. — On Thursday morning, the Adelphi women's soccer team was picked to finish third in the Northeast 10 Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the league office.
Adelphi (62 points, one first-place vote) sits behind NCAA finalist Franklin Pierce (77 points, seven first-place votes) and NE10 champion and NCAA East Region No. 1 seed Saint Anselm (71 points, one first-place vote).
With the departure of program mainstays Madison Apicella and Dylann Trahey, the Panthers do return some major pieces in former All-American and NE10 Player of the Year Kayleigh Goodrich, as well as Sophia Cataldo and Bethany Solari. Head coach Brooke DeRosa and the Panthers open their season on Friday, August 28, when they take on Wilmington (Del.) at Motamed Field as part of the Adelphi Kick-Off Tournament. Start time is set for 7 p.m.
