Rindge, N.H. – The Adelphi University softball team was defeated by Assumption, 3-2, on Friday afternoon during Northeast 10 Championship Weekend, and will now enter the loser bracket of the tournament.

- Adelphi held the season series lead, 3-1, entering the matchup.
- Prior to today's game, the programs had faced off 31 times dating back to the 2009 season.
- Adelphi (35-20, 27-9 NE10) is now 24-10 all-time against the Greyhounds (29-25, 21-15 NE10).

How it Happened:
- The Panthers struck first in the opening inning. After Jaylen Wright drew a walk and advanced on a groundout, Klepper ripped a double into left field to bring home the game's first run.
- Assumption tied the contest in the second inning. Following a leadoff double and a groundout to move the runner over, the Greyhounds plated the tying run on a wild pitch.
- In the third inning, Adelphi put runners on first and second but was unable to capitalize.
- Assumption took the lead in the top of the fourth. A pair of leadoff hits set the table before a two-run double gave the Greyhounds a 3-1 advantage.
- The Panthers answered in the bottom half of the inning. After Comer started a two-out rally with a single up the middle, Hershkovitz smacked an RBI double down the right field line to score Comer from first and cut the deficit to one.
- In the sixth, the Panthers received a leadoff single from Klepper but were unable to advance the runner, as a double play eventually halted the rally.
- Lily Kenney entered in relief during the fourth inning and held the Greyhounds scoreless for the remainder of the game.
- In Adelphi's final turn at bat, Hershkovitz lined a single into the right-center gap but was thrown out attempting to stretch it into a double before the next two batters were retired in order.
