Garden City, N.Y. — The Adelphi men's tennis team was back in action on Wednesday afternoon for a pivotal Northeast 10 match with Assumption.
The Panthers won the No. 3 flight, 6-2, with Spyridon Papageorgiou and Leo Silverston earning the victory.
Assumption won the next match to level it, before Viktor Hockl and Thomas Horsley won a hard-fought No. 1 match, 7-5, to earn the first team point of the day for Adelphi.
Hockl continued rolling, winning his singles match 6-1, 6-2. The Greyhounds earned their first point after taking the No. 3 flight, but Louca Barton put Adelphi in the driver's seat with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1.
Thomas Horsley and Leo Silverston sealed the victory for the Panthers with wins at No. 4 and No. 6 singles.
Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi tennis team now sit in first place in the NE10 and will be back on the court Tuesday for another match with regional foe Queens.
