Garden City, N.Y. — Returning to conference play on Friday afternoon, head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi women's tennis team played host to Southern New Hampshire.
Genesis Beltran and Sara Lindeman won the first doubles match of the day, 6-2, but the Penmen were able to pull off an upset in the No. 1 flight. Oda Solevag Halvorsen and Zuzanna Witkowska battled to a 7-6 (7-2) tiebreak win to secure the first team point.
Roisin Boyd and Katarina Liedbeck both bounced back in singles play, winning their matches 7-5, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-4, respectively. Southern New Hampshire took the No. 2 match to earn a point, but Solevag Halvorsen and Lindeman wrapped up a 5-2 win for the Panthers with victories in the No. 4 and No. 5 matches.
The Adelphi women's tennis team will be back in action on Monday, April 13, to take on regional foe Jefferson.
