New Haven, Conn. – Adelphi University's softball team split its doubleheader with Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday afternoon, surviving a late comeback by the Owls in game two.

- Adelphi responded in the second inning, taking the lead. A rally of three straight singles from Moore, Faith Wagner and Makayla Comer set up back-to-back sacrifice flies from Tori Parente and Reeghan McCarthy to score two.
- Southern Connecticut tied the game in the fourth, using a triple and a double to plate the run.
- The Brown and Gold answered again, as Priest started a two-out rally with a triple to center field. Tarjan then came through with an RBI single to right, giving the Panthers a one-run cushion.
- In the bottom of the sixth, the Owls put together a five-run rally, highlighted by a three-run double from SCSU's second baseman to take control.
- Adelphi drew a leadoff walk in the seventh, but a double play ended the comeback attempt.
Game Two: Adelphi 7, Southern Connecticut 6

- Lily Kenney came out of the bullpen and tossed 2.1 scoreless innings.
- McCarthy and Jaylen Wright each recorded two RBI in the win.
How It Happened:
- The Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. After Priest walked and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt, she scored on a passed ball. Shortly after, Klepper reached on an error, and Moore roped a double to bring her home.
- The Owls responded in the second with three runs, stringing together four singles to take the lead.
- Adelphi regained control in the fourth, plating five runs. Moore singled and Wagner walked before Comer tied the game with an RBI base hit. Reeghan McCarthy followed with a two-run single to right-center. Priest kept the rally going with a single through the left side, and Wright capped the inning with a two-run double.
- Southern Connecticut answered in the fifth, cutting the deficit to two by capitalizing on a walk and a pair of hits.
- In the sixth, the Owls trimmed the lead to one after a leadoff triple.
- Kenney closed the door in the seventh with a 1-2-3 inning to secure the victory.
