Garden City, N.Y. – Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi women's tennis team returned to the courts on Saturday morning for a conference contest with Saint Michael's. Before the match, Katarina Liedbeck was honored for Senior Day.
The Panthers got off to a fantastic start, winning all three doubles matches for the first point of the day. Roisin Boyd and Katarina Liedbeck were victorious, 6-1, as were Zuzanna Witkowska and Oda Solevag Halvorsen. Genesis Beltran and Sara Lindeman were perfect in their 6-1 win.
Adelphi's success carried over into the singles portion of the morning. Witkowska was victorious, 6-0, 6-2, and Kayla Castellano followed that up with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the Panthers' No. 5. Boyd won, 6-1, 6-2, Beltran picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win — not losing a single game all day — and Lindeman earned a 6-1, 6-7 (9-7), 10-7 victory. Liedbeck wrapped up her Senior Day with a three-set, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 win to complete the sweep.
The Adelphi women's tennis team will be back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Bentley for the 2025-26 regular season finale.
