Waltham, Mass. -- The Adelphi men's tennis team returned to Northeast 10 Conference play on Thursday afternoon when it traveled up to Bentley.

The Panthers got off to a hot start, sweeping the doubles portion of the day to earn the first point.

Thomas Horsley and Louca Bertone won 6-3, Spyridon Papageorgiou and Matias Hoyos were victorious 6-4, and Viktor Hockl and Andrea Albiero battled to a 7-6 win.

Bertone put the Panthers up 2-0 after a 6-3, 6-0 victory in the No. 1 singles flight, but the Falcons were able to fight back and take the lead after three straight wins.

Papageorgiou got Adelphi back on track, defeating his No. 3 opponent 7-5, 6-2, and it all came down to the No. 6 match.

Arturo Beitman lost the first set, but came right back with a 6-1 win in the second. The decisive set for the match came down to a tiebreak, with Bentley narrowly winning and earning the match victory.

Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi men's tennis team will be back on the courts Saturday for Senior Day, where Bertone, Hockl, and Horsley will be honored.
