West Haven, Conn. – Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi women's tennis team traveled to the University of New Haven on Wednesday afternoon for the first matchup between the old foes since the Chargers moved up to Division I.
Oda Solevag Halvorsen and Zuzanna Witkowska won their No. 2 doubles match, but New Haven took the other two matches to earn the first point.
Unfortunately for Adelphi, the Chargers claimed the next four singles matches to secure the team victory, though Sara Lindeman and Genesis Beltran were impressive in their performances. Lindeman earned a comeback win, 2-6, 7(7), 6(3), 13-11, while Beltran won 1-6, 6-1, 6-2.
The Adelphi women's tennis team will be back in action on Friday when they host Southern New Hampshire in Northeast 10 Conference play.
