Washington, D.C. – The No. 25-ranked Adelphi men's tennis team was back in action on Monday afternoon for a regional contest with the University of the District of Columbia.
The Panthers roared their way to the first point of the day, winning the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles flights and taking the No. 3 match by default. The pairing of Viktor Hockl and Thomas Horsley won their match 6-4 while Louca Bertone and Spyridon Papageorgiou earned a 6-3 win.
Matias Hoyos picked up the first singles win for the Brown and Gold, 6-1, 6-0 and the rest of the team followed suit. Horsley was victorious 6-3, 6-2, Papageorgiou won 6-2, 6-3, Bertone recorded a quick 6-1, 6-3 win and Hockl took a three-set win, 6-1, 3-6, 10-6 in his No. 2 match.
Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Panthers will take a quick break before returning to conference play on Sunday, March 22 at Franklin Pierce. First serve is set for 11:30 a.m.
