#21 Women's Tennis Takes Care of UDC, 6-1

Washington, D.C. – Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the No. 21-ranked Adelphi women's tennis team took to the courts on Monday morning for a tilt with the University of the District of Columbia.

The Panthers got off to a fast start, sweeping the doubles portion of the day and earning the match's first point. No. 13 Katarina Liedbeck and Roisin Boyd got back on track by earning a 6-4 victory while Zuzanna Witkowska and Kayla Castellano picked up a 6-2 win. Adelphi won the No. 3 flight as well by default.

Adelphi carried its fine form into singles play as Boyd earned a quick 6-3, 6-2 win as the team's No. 3. Zuzanna Witkowska was not far behind with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2. Liedbeck and Genesis Beltran both found themselves in battles at No. 1 and No. 6, but each pulled out a three-set win in a tiebreak.

The Adelphi women's tennis team will stay on the road this week to take on regional foe Queens on Thursday at 1 p.m. in Flushing.
