Flushing, N.Y. — Following a big win over the University of the District of Columbia, the No. 20 Adelphi women's tennis team was in action on Thursday afternoon for a nationally ranked matchup with No. 27 Queens.

The Panthers' No. 16-ranked pairing of Katarina Liedbeck and Roisin Boyd defeated the No. 22-ranked team from Queens in a 7-5 battle. Unfortunately for Adelphi, the Knights had the edge in the two other doubles matches and earned the first point of the day.

Queens took the first two singles matches to grab a 3-0 lead before Zuzanna Witkowska put Adelphi on the board with a 7-5, 6-3 victory. Sara Lindeman then won her No. 6 flight 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, but it would not be enough as the Knights took the remaining matches to win 5-2.

Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Panthers will be back on the courts on Saturday, March 21 at 4 p.m. when they head to Franklin Pierce for a conference tilt.
