Oceanside, N.Y. — Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the No. 21 ranked Adelphi women's tennis team were back in action on Thursday afternoon to play host to No. 12 Findlay.
The Oilers got off to a hot start, sweeping all three doubles matches to earn the first point of the day.
In singles play, it did not get much better for the Panthers. Findlay jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after wins in the No. 4 and No. 6 flights and although Adelphi battled, the visitors were too much. No. 75 ranked Katarina Liedbeck earned a 5-7, 6-4, 10-6 victory over No. 68 Anamarija Kovacevic, but that was the lone point for the Brown and Gold as it fell, 6-1.
The Adelphi women's tennis team will return to the courts on Monday when they travel to the University of the District of Columbia. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
