Oceanside, N.Y. — Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the No. 29 Adelphi women's tennis team were back in action on Saturday afternoon as they played host to Saint Anselm.
The Panthers were on the board first, sweeping doubles play. The No. 8-ranked pairing of Katarina Liedbeck and Roisin Boyd won their match, 6-3. The duos of Oda Solevag Halvorsen and Zuzanna Witkowska, as well as Genesis Beltran and Sara Lindeman, both won their contests, 6-2.
Witkowska won the No. 2 flight, and Solevag Halvorsen followed her doubles partner with a 6-1, 6-2 win.
No. 52-ranked Liedbeck won a three-set battle, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, and was followed by victories from Matilda Buchen and Sara Lindeman to give Adelphi a 6-1 win.
The Panthers will be back in action on Wednesday when they take on former conference foe and new Division I program New Haven at 12 p.m.
