Oceanside, N.Y. — Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi women's tennis team were back on the courts Friday afternoon for a regional tilt with St. Thomas Aquinas.
The Spartans came into the match shorthanded and with a No. 2 doubles win from Genesis Beltran and Sara Lindeman, 6-2, the Panthers earned the first point of the day.
Katarina Liedbeck kept the momentum rolling for Adelphi, earning a 6-2, 6-4 victory in the No. 1 flight. Kayla Castellano dominated her match, 6-0, 6-0, before Zuzanna Witkowska finished up a 6-2, 6-4 win as the team's No. 2.
Roisin Boyd and Oda Solevag Halvorsen completed the sweep for the Brown and Gold, with each winning their matches 6-2, 6-3 and 6-4, 6-2, respectively.
The Adelphi women's tennis team will return to the courts on Thursday when they host nationally ranked Findlay.
