Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi men's tennis team returned to the courts on Tuesday night when they welcomed Manhattanville to Point Set Tennis Center to kick off their spring season.
The Panthers' No. 2 and No. 3 doubles pairings of Thomas Horsley and Louca Bertone, along with Arturo Beitman and Matias Hoyos, made quick work of their opponents, each winning 6-0. The No. 1 duo of Andrea Albiero and Viktor Hockl was locked into a battle with the Valiants' best pair, but the Cats ultimately came through with a 7-5 win.
Spyridon Papageorgiou and Leo Silverston stepped in for singles play, each winning their matches 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-3, respectively.
Albiero, Beitman and Hoyos stayed on the court as Adelphi's No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6. All three dominated, with Albiero earning a 6-3, 6-3 win, Beitman not dropping a set in a 6-0, 6-0 victory and Hoyos bringing home a 6-1, 6-2 win.
The Panthers will return to the courts tomorrow morning when they take on Division I St. John's at 9 a.m.
