How It Happened:
  • After four shot attempts from the Panther offense, the first goal of the season finally fell when Donnellan found Lewis on the doorstep to open up the scoring. The first 11 minutes of the opening frame featured six goals from Adelphi before the Cavaliers broke the silence.
  • Allowing just one goal in the first half of action, the Panthers extended their lead to 15 with 10 straight goals spanning the second and third quarters. Adelphi held the Cavaliers scoreless in the second, rattling off 12 shots, to their opponents' three. Through three frames, the Brown and gold managed 31 shots on goal as Walsh managed six.
  • As the game crept into the fourth quarter, the Walsh defense put up a pair of saves and three caused turnovers for Adelphi to hold them scoreless in the final frame.
  • Cavalier's starting netminder Austin England recorded 11 saves. Christian Tomei earned the start in gold for the Cats, as Thomas Gentile played the second half.
