Worcester, Mass. — Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi women's tennis team opened their fall season up with a trip to Assumption on Saturday afternoon. 

The Panthers quickly earned the first point of the match with the duos of Katarina Liedbeck and Roisin Boyd, Zuzanna Witkowska and Oda Solevag Halvorsen and Genesis Beltran and Sara Lindeman all picking up victories. 

Momentum would carry into the doubles match with Liedbeck earning a 6-4, 6-2 victory. Assumption's no. two picked a point back up, trying to will the Greyhounds back into the match but the Cats would be too much. 

Lindeman and Beltran both earned quick two set victories in their respective matches to seal the win for the Panthers. Boyd and Solevag Halvorsen had to fight for their wins, but both did so in three sets.  

Adelphi will return to the court on Saturday for their home opener against Franklin Pierce at 9 a.m.
