Men's Soccer Tabbed for Third Place in NE10 Coaches' Preseason Poll

8/13/2025 12:00:00 PM

Mansfield, Mass. — The Adelphi men's soccer team will look to improve upon their 2024 campaign after being picked to finish third in the Northeast 10 Coaches' Preseason Poll on Tuesday.

The Cats finished behind last year's conference champions Southern New Hampshire (81 points) and 2022 and 2023 national champions Franklin Pierce (72 points) with 65 points, ten ahead of fourth place Southern Connecticut State.

Head coach Gary Book and the Panthers finished 9-6-4 last season and bowed out in the NE10 semifinals to eventual champion SNHU, narrowly missing an NCAA Tournament berth.

With the departure of leading scorers Pablo Herrera and Victor Castel, Adelphi will rely on returning playmakers Richard DeBrosse, Alessio Consoli, Matthew Murphy and Rory Duggan. Leo Carlsson Senoo and Lucas Nicolaou will once again anchor the Panther back line.

Book and the Cats open up their season against Wilmington (Del.) in Waterbury, Conn. on September 4 at the Post University Kickoff Invite. Start time is set for 6:30 PM.
