Men's Lacrosse Earns USILA Scholar Award, Pair Named Scholar All-American

Lousiville, KY - The Adelphi University men's lacrosse has earned the Team Scholar Award, announced by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) on Tuesday. Additionally, two-time National Champions Ryan Durnin and Nicholas O'Shea have been named USILA Scholar All-Americans. 

The program boasted a collective team GPA of 3.338 for the 2024-25 school year - up from their 2024 mark - bolstered by Caleb Jacobson's 4.0 and Elite 24 winner Michael Durnin's 3.903. 

A Scholar All-American must be nominated by his coach and be a student with a senior year academic standing and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale) and have earned All-American honors. Last year's senior class saw four selections while Durnin and O'shea represented the Panthers this season. 

O'shea was a USILA Second Team All-American honoree, and posted a 3.756 for the academic year. Playing in all but one contest in this year's title run, O'Shea was responsible for 11 points, courtesy of six goals and five assists and collected 32 ground balls. 

Durnin anchored the Panther defense, starting in 16 of the team's 20 contests in 2025. He had 23 caused turnovers (third best on the team), and was a USILA Third Team All-American. For the year, he posted a 3.838 as he earned hisd degree in Physical Education.
