Waltham, Mass. — Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi men's tennis team returned to Northeast-10 play on Friday afternoon to take on Bentley.
The Panthers got off to a fast start with the duo of Marko Jovanovic and Spyridon Papageorgiou earning a 6-1 win in the no. 1 doubles match. The pair of Andrea Albiero and Rodrigo Ochoa then won 6-3 and Reece Farrow and Louca Bertone completed the doubles sweep and earned Adelphi the first point.
Papageorgiou continued to be red hot, winning the first singles match in 6-2, 6-3 fashion. Jovanovic followed that up with a 6-0, 6-4 win himself and Bertone had a dominating 6-3, 6-1 victory in the no. 2 slot. Albiero won 7-5, 6-3 and Ochoa rounded out the day with a three set 2-6, 6-4, 10-7 victory to give the Cats a 6-1 win.
The Panthers moved to 13-5, 8-1 NE10 on the season to add on to their conference lead. Adelphi will return to the court for its regular season finale at Assumption on Sunday. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
