Sparkill, N.Y. — After a quick stay back in Garden City, the Adelphi women's tennis team took the trip up to St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday afternoon to take on the #37 Spartans.
STAC won the first doubles match of the day relatively quick to put itself in the drivers seat for the first point. Caterina Federici and Zuzanna Witkoska took the no. 2 matchup 6-3, but the Spartans won the no. 1 matchup and went up early.
The home team continued to put the pressure on the Panthers as they took the first two singles contests to go up 3-0. Roisin Boyd got the Panthers on the board with a comeback 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 win and Genesis Beltran followed that up with an impressive 6-3, 6-1 victory in the no. 6 match but that was all the Cats would get as they fell 5-2.
Head Coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi women's tennis team now await their fate for the NCAA Regionals which will take begin on Monday, May 12.
