West Haven, Conn. — Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi women's tennis team took the quick trip up to New Haven on Monday afternoon for an NCAA East Regional tilt with No. 4 St. Thomas Aquinas.

Unfortunately for the Cats, the Spartans played extremely well in doubles play, winning the no. 2 and 3 matches before Katarina Liedbeck and Roisin Boyd could snag the win in their contest.

Genesis Beltran won the first set in singles play, trying to gain Adelphi momentum. All six matches were tight and although it seemed like STAC was behind early, it did not lose its composure and gained an advantage in the no. 5, 4 and 3 matches.

Zuzanna Witkowska won her first set in the no. 2 match and Liedbeck was locked in a battle in the one spot, but it would be too little too late for the Panthers as the Spartans quickly grabbed the three wins they needed to advance to the next round.

Adelphi finished its season at 10-7 and the Northeast-10 runners-up. With five starters slated to return for the 2025-26 season, the Cats will look to build upon their successes from this year.
