Garden City, N.Y. — Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi men's tennis team were in action on Saturday morning for a Northeast-10 contest against Saint Michael's.
Before the match began, the team honored Reece Farrow, Marko Jovanovic and Hugo Munoz Reinoso for senior day.
The Panthers got off to a quick start in the doubles portion of the day as the no. 3 pairing of Louca Bertone and Elouan Boyer quickly earned a 6-2 victory over their counterpart. Jovanovic and Spyridon Papageorgiou followed that up with a no. 2 win themselves to give Adelphi the first point of the match.
Vibes were high for the Cats going into the singles matches and they came through. Bertone was dominant in a 6-0 ,6-1 win and Jovanovic earned a 6-2, 6-3 win himself against the Purple Knights' no. 1.
Munoz Reinoso and Papageorgiou kept the wins rolling in, both winning in two sets and Rodrigo Ochoa earned the final victory for Adelphi 6-4, 6-2 to bring home a 6-1 team win.
The first place Adelphi men's tennis team will return on Friday to take on Bentley in Waltham, Mass. at 1:00 PM.
