Garden City, N.Y. — The Adelphi women's tennis team was back in action on Friday afternoon when they hosted #26 Wilmington (Del.)
The Wildcats won the first doubles match of the day, but the freshman pair of Sara Lindeman and Genesis Beltran bounced back for the Panthers with a 6-3 victory. The no. 1 Adelphi duo of Katarina Liedbevk and Roisin Boyd would battle, but fell 4-6 as Wilmington snagged the first point of the day.
The singles portion of the match had a handful of competitive contests but the Wildcats won the first two points to put themselves in the drivers seat.
Liedbeck had a decisive no. 1 victory, earning a 6-1, 6-4 win but that was all Adelphi could muster as Wilmington went on to win, 6-1.
Head Coach Rebecca Fakas and the Panthers will return to the court on Tuesday to take on nearby foe St. Thomas Aquinas at 2:30 PM.
