Oceanside, N.Y. — Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi women's tennis team continued their spring season on Sunday afternoon when they took on the University of the District of Columbia. 

Roisin Boyd and Caterina Federici started the match off strong for the Panthers, winning their no. 2 doubles match, 6-2. The freshman pair of Genesis Beltran and Sara Lindeman earned the first point of the match for Adelphi when they won, 6-4.   

Beltran kept the momentum going from her doubles victory as she dominated the no. 6 singles match, 6-1, 6-0. Federici followed that with a 6-1, 6-3 victory and Katarina Liedbeck was victorious in her no. 1 singles match, 6-4, 6-3. 

Boyd and Lindeman had to grind out their wins in three sets, but they were able to pull through and clinch the match win for the Panthers, 6-1. 

The 'Cats will return to the court on Thursday when they head to Jefferson at 3 p.m.
