Flushing, N.Y. — The Adelphi men's tennis team returned to the court on Friday afternoon to take on Queens College. The Panthers were looking to continue momentum after back-to-back wins over Boston University and Chestnut Hill.
The no. 1 doubles team of Hugo Munoz Reinoso and Reece Farrow made quick work of their opponents, earning a 6-4 victory to give Adelphi the fast track to the match's first point. The Panther no. 2 and no. 3 pairings were locked into battles, with both matches going to a tiebreak. Unfortunately for the Adelphi, both pairings fell narrowly and Queens earned the first point.
That momentum seemed to carry the Knights into the singles portion of the match as they took the next five points. Spyridon Papageorgiou was impressive in his no. 4 singles match win, but it would not be enough as the 'Cats fell, 1-6.
Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Panthers will return to the court on Saturday, March 22 to begin conference play against Bentley.
