Renner Lands Spot on Initial 2025 Tewaaraton Watch List

Washington, D.C. - As the lone Division II student-athlete, Dylan Renner continues his historic career by being the first Adelphi University men's lacrosse player to be named to the 2025 Tewaaraton Award Men's Watch List, presented by Stifel, announced last week.

The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.

"It is an honor to be selected onto the most prestigious list in all of college lacrosse," said the graduate netminder. "Every day, I remain thankful that I get to represent Adelphi University and the men's lacrosse program."

Renner joins one DIII selection and 47 from Division I on the initial list. No non-DI student-athlete has ever won the Tewaaraton. The only goalie was Maryland's Megan Taylor in 2019.

He was named the NE10 Player of the Year and Goalie of the Year in 2024, awards he repeated on the national and regional level across DII.  That, of course, was en route to a national championship for the Panthers.

While he may be the first men's honoree, he joins 11 women's lacrosse student-athletes from Adelphi. Most recently was Kole Pollock, who earned a spot in back-to-back seasons (2020,2021) and a list that dates back to Hall of Famer Katherine Hock '05 as the first ever athlete to be included from Garden City.

"As presenting sponsor of The Tewaaraton Award, we're excited about the start of another great college lacrosse season and look forward to following these exceptional student-athletes on their road to team and individual success," said Ron Kruszewski, Chairman and CEO, Stifel. "We're also thrilled to begin the second year of our partnership with The Tewaaraton Foundation, which has done so much to elevate the sport of lacrosse and honor its Native American heritage."
