Garden City, N.Y. - Closing out the fall portion of the schedule, the Adelphi University men's tennis team took a 6-1 victory from Bentley University on Saturday on their home courts.
Braving the elements, Adelphi managed to take a 1-0 lead following the doubles session as all three flights picked up wins. The duo of
Viktor Hockl and
Andrea Albiero were the first to close ou their match, capturing a 6-2 win to get things going.
All singles flights but one went in favor of the Panthers, as Bentley picked up their lone point at no. 2 singles.Hockl and Albiero went to their respective flights and took home individual wins to keep things rolling for the home team.
Spyridon Papageorgiou and
Arturo Beitman were both put into pressure situations at no. 4 and no. 6 singles, but came away victorious with 6-1, 5-7, 6-0 and 6-0, 2-6, 10-8 decisions, respectively.
The team will break until the spring season and is scheduled to return on Saturday, February 21. A reminder that the Northeast 10 Conference tournament schedule will be played in the spring semestery, starting on Thursday, April 30.
