Garden City, N.Y. - Lana Mignon De Wet led a dominant offensive performance as the Adelphi University field hockey team rolled to an 8–0 win over Molloy University on Tuesday afternoon.
For the Panthers, their eight goals marked their second-highest output of the 2025 campaign, as De Wet netted three, Jena Geels and Kelly Johnson each tallied two, and Isabella Zullo recorded her first of the season.
The first quarter saw the home team jump out to a quick 3–0 lead, with Johnson breaking the ice, followed by Geels, before Zullo joined the scoring column off a feed from Katie Dettore.
The next 15 minutes featured the Brown and Gold adding two more scores, as Johnson struck again for her eighth goal of the season. Shortly after, De Wet tallied her first of the game, assisted by Caroline Beakes.
At halftime, Adelphi had dominated both sides of the ball—scoring five goals and holding Molloy without a single shot.
Out of the break, De Wet continued to find a way past the Lions' defense, scoring twice in the 36th and 42nd minutes to complete the hat trick for the junior midfielder.
The final period featured Geels netting her second goal of the contest, putting an exclamation mark on the commanding victory.
The win also marked a career milestone for head coach Jess Mulhern, who reached 100 total victories in her coaching career- between her stints at Limestone and Adelphi.
Mulhern and the Panthers return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they travel to Saint Michael's College for a 2:30 p.m. matchup that will conclude their regular season.
