Garden City, N.Y. — After a short hiatus, head coach
Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi women's tennis team returned to the court on Thursday afternoon when they traveled to Bentley.
Zuzanna Witkowska and
Oda Solevag Halvorsen started doubles play with a quick 6-1 victory, followed by
Sara Lindeman and
Genesis Beltran, who also won 6-1. Fresh off an ITA Cup appearance,
Roisin Boyd and
Katarina Liedbeck completed the doubles sweep for Adelphi with a 6-3 win.
In singles play, Beltran earned a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win to keep the momentum going for the Panthers. Liedbeck followed that up with a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the No. 1 flight, and making her collegiate debut,
Matilda Buchen put together an impressive 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 6 match. Boyd (6-1, 6-1), Solevag Halvorsen (6-2, 6-3), and Lindeman (6-2, 7(7)-6(5)) each won their respective matches to complete the 7-0 sweep for Adelphi.
The Adelphi women's tennis team will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Assumption in Garden City at 1 p.m.
