Oceanside, N.Y. — Once again rain was an issue on Long Island as the Adelphi women's tennis team had to move its match against Southern New Hampshire from Garden City to the Point Set Racquet Club in Oceanside.
The Panthers showed up early, taking an early lead by gaining the doubles point.
The duo of Katarina Liedbeck and Zuzanna Witkowska were victorious once again, winning their match over the #1 SNHU pairing, 6-1. Sara Lindeman and Genesis Beltran who have been a very solid number three pairing all season long, picked up a 6-1 victory to give Adelphi the edge and the doubles point.
Liedbeck and Witkowska kept their momentum going as each won their singles match. Liedbeck was victorious 2-6, 6-0, 6-1 and Witkowska won by a score of 6-3, 7-5.
Roisin Boyd pulled out a clutch victory, winning her match in three games, 6-3, 5-7, 10-4.
Caterina Federici continued her nice stretch of play, winning her match 7-5, 6-1 while Genesis Beltran was once again a winner as Adelphi's #6, picking up a 6-4, 6-0 victory.
The Panthers would win the team match by a score of 6-1. Head Coach Rebecca Fakas and the 'Cats will return to court on Wednesday when they travel to American International.
